Trip Attendance - Terms & Conditions

The Grades: F = First timers N = Novice I = Intermediary P = Proficient X = Excellent L = Leaders

Some trips could have limited spaces so book early.

Members under 18 years old need to have a signed Parental Consent Form
on the back of the membership form BEFORE GOING ON A TRIP.

 

You will NOT BE ALLOWED on the trip if it is not signed.

If you have not completed a Membership form you are not covered by the BCU insurance.

Attendance on any trip is subject to the agreement of the senior coach/ club officer attending the trip. All trips grade 3 and above are for experienced adult (18+) club members only who paddle at their own risk. All trips grade 2 or below can be designated as ‘Training Trips’ and open to all members depending on water levels, experience of trip leaders and experience of the person wishing to paddle. If there is any doubt that a club member is not able to complete a trip safely then they will not be allowed to participate.

Equipment Hire Charge: (Canoe, spraydeck, paddle, Buoyancy Aid and Helmet)
Adult £5.00 Youth (under 16 & Student) £2.00

Trips not organised by the club a charge would be made per boat of £15 per week, or if for a day £5. The maximum number of boats to be lent per member is 2. Club members will be made aware that they will be liable for damage, and that they are not covered by club insurance. The club will only lend boats to juniors where an adult who paddles with the club is responsible. A £10 deposit required before equipment taken from Store. 

All club equipment is hired at the hirers risk, there will be no additional charges for reasonable wear and tear. If club equipment is damaged or lost through the neglect of the hirer or being used on rivers above grade 3 then the hirer is responsible for replacing or repairing the equipment.
Equipment to be in a clean condition when returned ready for use in the pool.
